Education Resources

"The greatest genius will never be worth much is he pretends to draw exclusively from his own resources."

~Johann von Goethe

Resources make a valued contribution to anyone's work or art and only adds to a person's knowledge, approach and judgement. Below is a list of Early Childhood Education resources that will help it taking care of and teaching our greatest resource - children. I found the joint position report of the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and AECS/SDE (National Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State Departments of Education) on Early Childhood Curriculum, Assessment, and Program Evaluation and the organization the Association for Childhood Education International to be very interesting; especially if you have an interest in program planning and curriculum design.

  1. Darcie,
I enjoyed reading the article on Where we stand on child abuse prevention. It teaches you no matter what the situation is you always report abuse if you feel a child is being abused. If he/she comes to school abused make sure you document it and report it as soon as possible. Our children are our future and we suppose to treat them right, teach them and take care of them always.

  2. Elizabeth,

This is a very difficult topic to talk about, let alone handle in a real life situation. Do you have any suggestions or other readings on signs that an education should look for, etc....

    Thanks
    Darcie

  3. Darcie,

Thank you for posting the book by Laurel Schmidt. I am always looking for new activities for children I watch. It is nice to see a new side of the developmental growth of children.
